Reto Coper es, en nuestra opinión, una de las mejores experiencias en Colombia para vivir todo lo que los magníficos Andes tienen para ofrecer en solo un par de días. Subidas largas y dolorosas, cambios climáticos extremos y paisajes espectaculares a través de un camino destapado durante 2 días.

Comenzamos esta aventura en Sutatausa a 8.530 pies (2.600 m) sobre el nivel del mar. Esta ciudad tiene una larga historia durante la Inquisición española, ya que hay crónicas que cuentan cómo las culturas locales se vieron obligadas a someterse en la cordillera que rodea el área. También puedes encontrar pinturas rupestres en las rocas extendidas en este terreno.

Como cada lugar en el Altiplano Cundiboyacense (el área entre los Departamentos de Cundinamarca y Boyaca), recién comenzamos a enfrentar la montaña, y subimos a Carupa, luego descendemos a Coper. Esta pequeña ciudad está escondida debajo de las montañas a 3.280 pies (1.000 m), y tanto la subida como la bajada son divertidas y emocionantes.

El verdadero desafío comienza el día 2, cuando escalaremos la misma montaña con una ganancia de elevación de 8.200 pies (2.500 m) en 21,7 millas (35 km). Es solo una montaña, pero te llevará todo el día. No hay prisa o tiempo límite, solo al llegar a la cima se tratará de una historia para alardear.

Este tour incluye transporte ida y vuelta a Sutatausa, carro de apoyo hasta Carmen de Carupa, snacks e hidratación, logística en destino y seguro. No incluye alojamiento en Coper, cuyo costo oscila alrededor de los $20.000.

Reto Coper is, in our opinion, one of the best experiences in Colombia to live everything the magnificent Andes have to offer in just a couple of days. Long and painful climbs, extreme weather changes and spectacular landscapes through a gravel path during 2 days.

We start this adventure in Sutatausa at 8.530ft (2.600m) above the sea level. This town has a long history during the Spanish Inquisition, as there are chronicles that tell how the local cultures were forced to submit in the mountain ridge that surrounds the area. You can also find rock paintings in the boulders spread in this terrain.

As every place in the Altiplano Cundiboyacense (the area between the Departments of Cundinamarca and Boyaca), just starting we face the mountain, and we go up to Carupa, then descend to Coper. This little town is hidden under the mountains at 3.280ft (1.000m), and both the climb and descend are fun and exciting.

The real challenge starts on day 2, when we will climb back the same mountain with an elevation gain of 8.200ft (2.500m) in 21,7mi (35km). Is just one mountain, but it will take your whole day. There is no rush or limit time, just by reaching the peak it will be a story to brag about.

This tour includes round trip transportation to Sutatausa, support car up to Carmen de Carupa, snacks and hydration, logistics at the destination and insurance.
